WATERBURY - Patricia "Tudy" (O'Rourke) Barrett, age 72 of Cheshire, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6. 2017 at Waterbury Hospital,surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was the widow of Eugene Barrett.
Patricia was born on August 19, 1944 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Patrick and Anne (Guzavicius) O'Rourke. She was raised in Middlebury CT and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and worked for many years as a Service Representative at Southern New England Telephone Co. Tudy loved to travel especially to Cape Cod and Maine, was an avid gardener and enjoyed knitting. Tudy was always happiest when spending time with her family and her trusted companion, "Snoopy". She was a longtime parishioner of St. Michael's Church. Tudy will be sadly missed by her loving family and by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Mary Hines and her husband, Richard of Waterbury, her step sons, Michael Barrett of Bristol and Dennis Barrett of Wolcott, her step daughter, Colleen Maturo of Waterbury, her brother, John O'Rourke of Waterbury and 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and her beloved "Snoopy". Patricia was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth O'Rourke.
Patricia's family would like to thank and acknowledge her longtime health aide, Regina Anane for the love and comfort she shared with Patricia during her later years.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Barrett will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 9:30am at St. Michaels Church, St Michaels Dr. Waterbury when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Wolcott . Family and friends may visit with Patricia's family on Sunday afternoon from 4:00 till 6:00 pm at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury CT.
