AT THE CASEY - O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME - Waterbury - Paul V. Coviello, age 88, of Bryan St Waterbury, died peacefully, early Saturday morning at home, surrounded by his loving, faithful family. He was the husband of the late Marian (Gleason) Coviello.
Paul was born in Waterbury on March 12, 1921, a son of the late Donato and Maria (Pace) Coviello. He was a graduate of Wilby High School and was an accomplished baseball player. Paul was a decorated veteran of the US Army having proudly served his country during World War II where he earned the Bronze Service Arrowhead Award and the Theater Campaign Ribbon with Victory Medal. Paul was a plumber for many years, associated with the Coviello Plumbing & Heating Co until his retirement in 1983. Paul was a lifelong and avid Yankees Fan and a lifelong parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church where he served as an usher for many years.
Paul is survived by his son, John and his wife, Patty of Plantsville CT, two daughters, Ann O'Dea and her husband, Richard of Cheshire and Kit Casey and her husband Tim of Bristol. Six grandchildren, Michael, Kristen, Kyla, Paul, TJ and Anna and 4 great grandchildren, Hannah, Caroline, Liam and Dylan. He was predeceased by his son, Richard Coviello in 1992.
Funeral services with Full Military Honors for Mr. Coviello will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 9:30am from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury to SS Peter & Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Rd. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by his cousin, the Rev. Paul Pace at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 4 - 7pm. Memorial donations in Mr. Coviello's memory may be made to the St. Francis Xavier School Development Fund, 605 Baldwin St Waterbury CT 06706.
