Loving Mother, Wife and "Nana"
OAKVILLE - Paula Kay Persons age 70, of Oakville, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 9th 2019, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Edgar Persons.
Paula was born January 29th 1949 in Keene Valley, NY the daughter of the late Robert Horace and Pauline Ruth (Gero) Bogle and was raised in the Pottersville, NY area where she attended local schools. Paula spent her life being a devoted wife, mother and "Nana" to her family. To her nothing was more important than her family, especially her grandchildren, who she loved to spend time with. Besides dedicating herself to her own family, Paula spent many years as a receptionist at the Travers Garage in Oakville and more recently as a nanny for a local family. She also enjoyed reading, gardening and spending summers sitting by the pool.
Besides her husband, Edgar of 51 years, Paula is survived by her children, Nicole Criss of Harwinton, and Wendy Belanger and her husband, Marc of Thomaston. She also leaves her brother, Steven Bogle and his wife Diana, of Needmore, PA and her sister, Roxanne Haupert and her husband, Robert of Duluth, MN. In addition, she leaves her adoring grandchildren, Kala, Eliza, Spencer, Briana, and Matthew as well as her niece, Christie and nephew, Scott. She was predeceased by her brother, John Bogle.
A memorial gathering for Mrs. Persons will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St, Oakville, CT 06779. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
