THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF PETER DUARTE
Peter Francisco Duarte, 96 of Waterbury, CT, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 7, 2021.
Peter was born in Fall River, MA, November 21st 1924, the son of the late Francisco and Maria (Pulgaria) Duarte then brought to and raised in Sao Nicolau, Cape Verde Islands at the age of 1, returning to the states at the age of 24, where he met and married his late wife Rose (Santos) Duarte.
He was a retiree of Alloy Foundries, Carter Maintenance and most recently ShopRite, at the hardworking age of 90. Peter was a lifelong devoted member of the Cape Verdean Social Club for 63 years. He enjoyed music, dancing and spending time with family and many, many friends.
Left to remember, cherish, and honor Peter's love and legacy, are his sons, Francisco P. Duarte of Waterbury, CT; John P. (Frankie) Duarte of New Haven, CT and Paul P. (Sylvia) Duarte, of Naugatuck, CT, daughters, Cynthia A. (Santos) Brown of New Britain, CT; Cecelia C. (Santos) James; Avalina R. Duarte; and Madalana R. (Duarte) Jenkins of Waterbury, CT, and longtime companion Antonia (Tanha) DeBritto, along with 17 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by sister-in-law Maria Duarte of Waterbury, CT and brother-in-law Joseph Andrade of West Haven, CT,
He was predeceased by brothers Sylvester Duarte and Jose Duarte and sister Amelia (Duarte) Andrade and daughter-in-law Maria Duarte Great-grandson Kevin Santiago
There will be a walk-through from 10am-11am for family, outside of the immediate family, to pay their respects, whom then will be asked go back outside and wait in your car to go to the cemetery.
From 11-11:30 a private Family only service
Services will also be live streamed for those unable to attend.
