Loving Father, Brother, and Grandfather
WATERBURY – Philip L. Hardt Jr., age 58 of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly at Saint Mary’s Hospital on Tuesday March 14, 2023, after a brief illness.
Phil was born May 23, 1964, in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Philip Sr. and Virginia (Hart) Hardt. He was raised in Oakville and educated in local schools. He spent several years working at the Southbury Training School before doing construction work. Most recently, over the past year, he was serving as a care giver for his aunt. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed following the NY Giants and Miami Dolphins. Phil had a huge heart, he had a compassion for people and animals, specifically his beloved late dog, Lucky. Phil was a kind and gentle man who will live on in the memory of all those he loved and who loved him in return.
Left to honor his legacy and treasure his memory are his daughters; Amanda Casey and her husband, Paul of Waterbury, Olivia Hardt of Watertown and his brother, David Hardt and his wife, Roberta of Oakville. He also leaves his 3 grandsons, Dylan, Tyler, and Logan Casey as well as his nephew, Christopher Hardt, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. The Hardt family would like to thank John Barbino for being such a great friend to Phil over the years.
A Memorial Gathering for Mr. Hardt will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 5:00 until 7: 00p.m at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St., Waterbury, CT 06705.
