THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF PHYLLIS MONTEROSE.


OAKVILLE - Phyllis Monterose, age 97 of Oakville, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 17th 2020 surrounded by the love and comfort of her family after an extended illness. She was the widow of Charles Monterose.

Phyllis was born October 31, 1922 in Orland ME, the daughter of the late Oscar and Amelia (Skillings) Ware. Phyllis was educated in Maine where she grew up and was a loving and dedicated homemaker. She moved to CT and married Charles Monterose in 1945 and supported him in his business Monterose Welding and Ironworks for many years. She enjoyed sewing and knitting and was a member of the Saint Mary Magdalen Ladies Guild, the Holy Cross Mothers Club and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. What was most important to Phyllis was her family and she will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Left to cherish her memory and honor her love and legacy are her children; Sandra Ann Monterose with whom she made her home and Thomas J. Monterose Sr. and his wife, Lorri of Mooresville, NC. She is predeceased by her sisters Eleanor Derouin of Oakville and Margaret Hooper of Maine. Phyllis was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Because of governmental restrictions regarding the current pandemic, a private funeral service for the Monterose family will be held at O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville on Monday March 23, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. A live stream of the services will be available on the funeral homes Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ONeillFuneralOakville/ Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery Watertown.
