THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF RAFFAELE PALMIERI .
WATERBURY - Raffaele Palmieri, age 88 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 14, 2018 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Marys Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was the husband of Amalia (Mazzettini) Palmieri.
Raffaele was born in Ruviano Italy, the son of the late Antonio and Maria (Riccio) Palmieri. He immigrated to the U.S.A. on July 1, 1968 with his wife and six children. He was a dedicated, hard worker and family man, having worked for many years as a tractor trailer driver at Century Brass. He enjoyed teaching his children how to fish and bait their own hooks. Raffaele took great pride in his yard and garden. He was happiest enjoying Sunday luncheons surrounded by his entire family. He was a parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church and he will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Besides his devoted wife of 63 years, he leaves behind his four daughters, Maria Mancini Palmieri of Woodbury, Rina Goncalves and her husband, Carlos of Waterbury, Patty Aleandri and her husband, Thomas of Woodbury and Rose Yardito and her husband, Domenic of Bethlehem. He will be sadly missed by his 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his remaining siblings; Elena Szytko, Asunta Mongillo, Gloria Rinaldi and Domenico Palmieri. He was predeceased by his two sons; Antonio Palmieri and Umberto Palmieri.
Funeral services for Mr. Palmieri will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 10:30 a.m from Casey's Eastside Memorial 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd to SS Peter & Paul Church 167 Southmayd Rd Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in the Garden of Angels Mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery. Relative and friends may visit with Raffaele's family on Wednesday morning from 8:30 till 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
