Avid bowler and golfer
PROSPECT– Ralph E. Buonocore, age 83, of Prospect, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of his family at Saint Mary’s Hospital on Thursday, April 6, 2023, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Eleanor (Napolitano) Buonocore.
Ralph was born September 21, 1939, in Waterbury, CT the son of the late Giocchino “Jake” and Mary (Stango) Buonocore. Ralph was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1963. Ralph spent many years working at Uniroyal Inc. and Uniroyal Chemical, retiring as a transportation manager. He was an avid bowler and golfer, and two of his proudest achievements were getting a hole-in-one and scoring a perfect 300 bowling game. Ralph also enjoyed fishing and was an avid UConn Huskies and Red Sox fan. Ralph was exceptional in so many ways but excelled at being a devoted husband and father, happiest when spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by those who were blessed to know and love him.
Mere words are but a feeble attempt to express our family’s gratitude for the care and love that Saint Mary’s Hospital provided for Ralph and all of the Buonocore family during his illness, especially the doctors, nurses and staff in the Cardiac Care and Critical Care units.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory, along with his wife, Eleanor, of 58 years, are his children; Diane (Buonocore) Arend of Waterbury, Michael Buonocore and his wife, Denise of Milford, Mark Buonocore and his wife, Audra of Southington, Steven Buonocore of Virginia, a brother-in-law, 2 sister-in-laws, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services for Mr. Buonocore will be held privately and at the convenience of his family. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St., Waterbury, CT 06705, has been honored to care for the Buonocore family during this difficult time.
