THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF RAYMOND R. AHRENS
WATERBURY CT - Mr. Raymond R. Ahrens, age 49 of Waterbury passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, July 21, 2019.
Mr. Ahrens was born on October 27, 1969 in Waterbury the son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Roberton) Ahrens. He was a graduate of Crosby High School and proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force. He was employed for many years as a Behavioral Specialist for the State of CT, at the Whiting Forensic Institute and prior to that at Southbury Training School. Ray was well known for being a history buff especially about American Wars. His favorites hobbies included, fishing, video games and tags sales. What was most important to Ray was his family, especially being a loving, supportive and dedicated father to his daughter and stepdaughters who were very special to him. Raymond will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him
Raymond leaves his daughter, Alyssa Ahrens of Waterbury, his stepdaughters, Krystal DellaBella of Burlington and Stephanie Williams of Bristol. Ray was deeply loved by his grandchildren; Stevie, Brady, Lily and Logan. He also leaves his former wife, Lydia Ahrens; his fiancé, Deborah Cappellina; his sisters; Ann Fruin and her husband, Mark of Waterbury, Lori Diorio and her husband, Manny of Wolcott and Jean Murphy of Waterbury as well as his special friend, John Murphy and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Ahrens will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 12 noon at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Raymond's family on Saturday morning from 10:00 till the service at noon at the funeral home.
