WATERBURY - Raymond M. Galli Sr, age 93 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2020 at Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mays Hospital with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Angelina (Richard) Galli.

Raymond was born on September 04, 1926 in Waterbury Connecticut the son of the late Augustino and Ernesta Galli. Raymond was raised in Waterbury CT. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Leavenworth High School and played for the Waterbury Warriors. Raymond continued his education, graduating from Boston University where he was a standout athlete on their football team. After graduation, Raymond enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during World War II. He worked his entire career at Timex Corporation, where he retired. Raymond enjoyed boating, fishing and just being out in the sun. He was an avid Red Sox fan and was a regular in the Lakewood Lane senior bowling league. Raymond was also a dedicated volunteer for the special Olympics. Out of all of the things that Raymond enjoyed and loved, the most important thing to him was his family. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.

Left to cherish his memories and honor his love and legacy are his children; his son, Raymond Galli Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Milford and his daughter, Stephanie Bonicki and her husband, Leo of Waterbury. Raymond and Angelina were blessed with three grandchildren; Raymond Galli III and his wife, Samantha of Branford, Lindsey Bonicki of Westboro MA, and Kyle Bonicki of Waterbury. He also leaves two great grandchildren, Olivia Galli and Maxwell Galli. Raymond was predeceased by his brother, Primo Galli, his daughter, Mary Galli and his son, Ernest Galli.

The family would like to acknowledge and express their heartfelt appreciation to Vitas Hospice at Saint Mary's Hospital for the love and care they shared with Raymond and his family during his illness.

Funeral services for Mr. Galli will be held on Wednesday August 19, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St Waterbury. Burial with full military honors at Calvary Cemetery will be held after the calling hours. Relatives and friends may visit with Raymond's family on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. COVID -19 attendance restrictions will be strictly enforced. In lieu of flowers, to honor Raymond's memory donations can be made to Special Olympics Connecticut, 2666 State St Suite 1 Hamden CT 06517.
