Regina M. (Schmaling) Knopf, age 58, of Hungerford Ave. Oakville, died Tuesday evening at her home.
Regina was born September 30, 1949 in Greenwich CT, a daughter of Roy and Eleanor (Linnin) Schmaling, was raised in Greenwich and Southbury and lived in Watertown and Oakville for the past 20 years. She was educated in Southbury Schools. Regina was currently employed as a branch manager and assistant vice-president at Union Savings Bank in Brookfield. She was the former president of the New Fairfield/Candlewood Lions Club and was an active member of the Brookfield Rotary Club. Regina was a communicant of Saint Mary Magdalen Church.
She leaves a son, Daniel Ward Knopf and his wife Kimberly of Oakville, two grandchildren Karigan and Kaileigh Knopf of Oakville, two brothers Donald Schmaling and his wife Judith of Watertown, Roy Schmaling Jr. and his wife MaryBeth of Southbury and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Knopf will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2008 with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Mary Magdalen Church Buckingham St Oakville at 11:00am. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown.
