WATERBURY - Richard Anderson, age 89 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Abbott Terrace Healthcare after an extended illness.
Mr. Anderson was born in Jamaica, West Indies on July 27, 1929, the son of the late Daniel and Ellen (Welsh) Anderson. He loved God, was devoted to his family and loved to sing and play the banjo. He worked for many years as a shoemaker a lost art in today's society. He was the youngest and the last surviving member of his family of nine and will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know and love him. He was a member of the Community House of Worship, Waterbury
He is survived by his children; sons, Valroy and his wife, Lorne, Garnett and his wife, Annette, Peter and Dennis, his daughters, Audrey Brown and her husband Erroll, Patricia Morris, Joan Taylor and her husband Micheal, Sharon Blake and her husband, Glenroy, Lorraine Francis and her husband, Donatus and Jennifer Reynolds and her husband, Floyd. He was predeceased by his daughter, Peggy Anderson. He also leaves 23 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. Anderson will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at Waterbury Church of God, 854 Bank St Waterbury CT. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
