Mr. Richard Bouteiller

February 15, 1945 — February 15, 2024

NAUGATUCK- It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Richard “Dicky or Big Rich” Bouteiller Sr., age 79, of Naugatuck, announce his peaceful passing after extended health conditions on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Waterbury Hospital. He was the widower of his soul mate Barbara (Beeman) Bouteiller.
Richard was born on February 15, 1945, in Waterbury, CT to his late mother Mabel Newport. He attended local schools and then went on to proudly serve our country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a man of many traits from a caterer to a truck driver, a glassblower, and then owning his own small business. Richard really enjoyed life from driving his motorcycle, going antiquing, DJing karaoke, playing bingo, and chatting with friends. He will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor Richard’s legacy and cherish his memory are his children; Rich (Karen), Margaret (Joe), Diana (Steve), Darlene (Jay), and Audrey who was like his daughter. He also leaves his 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, two sisters; Betty and Dodo, along with extended family and friends. Richard was not only predeceased by his wife and parents but also his siblings, Al, Ollie, Bill, Maggie, Coco, and Barbara, and his grandson, Troy.
A Memorial Service celebrating Richard’s life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06705. Full military honors will be accorded immediately following the service. Burial will be held at the convenience of his family. Relatives and friends may visit with Richard’s family on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m at the funeral home. To honor his memory, in lieu of flowers, Richard’s family asks that people offer an act of kindness to someone. Loving-kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence or words of comfort or share a memory of someone important to you with your family and friends. Please visit the funeral home’s tribute page at www.caseyfunerals.com to do so.
