Richard Migliaro

October 25, 1937 — March 16, 2017

ALBANY NY - Richard S. Migliaro, Sr. age 79, of Albany NY, formerly of Wolcott, CT, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2017 at the Teresian House Center for the Elderly in Albany after an extended illness. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Matusko) Migliaro, who passed away in January 2016.

Richard was born October 25, 1937 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Louis E. Migliaro Sr. and Mary J. (Beson) Migliaro. He lived in Wolcott, CT for many years and along with his wife Elizabeth owned and operated Wolcott Glass Company. Rich was a glazier all of his working life and as a young man aspired to own his own business. Richard loved to cook and entertain his family and enjoyed card games with his brothers and friends. Richard and Liz built their retirement home in Spring Hill, FL and enjoyed welcoming their visiting family. In 2006 they moved to Albany, NY to be near their children. Richard will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Alesia (Michael) McLachlan of Danbury, Christopher (Caroline) Migliaro and Tia Marie Migliaro of Albany; grandchildren Hannah Migliaro and Brandon Cooney; sisters, Caroline Rinaldi of Wolcott and Jean Petro of Waterbury; and brothers, Francis (Jeanine) Migliaro of Goose Creek, SC and Edward (Madeline) Migliaro of Wolcott.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary and Louis Migliaro; his wife, Elizabeth; his son, Richard S. Migliaro, Jr.; brothers, Anthony Migliaro and Louis E. Migliaro, Jr; and his brothers-in-law, Louis Rinaldi and Dominic Petro.

The family is grateful for the loving care for Richard and Elizabeth Migliaro provided by the staff and the Carmelite Sisters of the Teresian House Center for the Elderly in Albany. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Saint John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main St., Watertown. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. The family will receive friends on Monday morning 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street Oakville, CT.
