WATERBURY - Richard W. Moser, age 62, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by the love and comfort of his family on Friday, February 27, 2015 after an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Dowd) Moser.
Richard was born July 26, 1952 in Brooklyn NY, the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Krista) Moser. He was educated in Brooklyn schools and was a graduate of Brooklyn College. He was employed for many years as an Information Technology Administrator for Consolidated Edison of NY, Gas Supply Division before his retirement after 35 years of service. Richard was the proud Commander of the "Ricky M" docked in Brooklyn and he also volunteered with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla # 11-2. Rick loved to bowl, fish, stamp collecting and most of all baking cookies for the holidays for relatives and friends. He was a parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church in Waterbury.
Besides his loving wife of 36 years, Richard his survived by his children, Daniel Moser and his wife, Michelle of Island Park NY, Katharine Moser of Elizabethtown PA and Frederick Moser and his wife Renee, of Waterbury. He also leaves his brother, Jeffrey Moser, and sisters Patricia Beck and Kathleen Waterbury all of Staten Island NY. He leaves six grandchildren, Collin, Kayleigh, Annalise, Finnigan, Murphy and Beau and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Moser will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. from Eastside Memorial, "A CASEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME AND TRIBUTE CENTER", 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury to SS Peter & Paul Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale LI NY. Relatives and friends may visit with Richard's family on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 till 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
