Mr. Richard Orsatti

December 5, 1943 — September 25, 2024

“Beloved Husband father and grandfather”

Torrington – It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that the family of Richard Orsatti, age 80, of Torrington, announce the passing of their beloved husband and father on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at his home surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Debra (Lago) Orsatti.

Richard was born December 5, 1943, in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Justino and Rose (Licese) Orsatti. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School, and he received his bachelor's degree from Central Connecticut State University, where he studied Psychology. Throughout his rich and diverse career, Richard touched the lives of many as a therapist at a children's group home, a furniture restorer, an antique dealer, and a fleet manager for Mack Trucking in Naugatuck. His creative soul also found expression through his art, with an art gallery in New Preston where his work captured the beauty of life. A true collector of treasures, Richard found joy in buying and selling antiques, a passion he shared with his wife, Debra. Together, they reveled in discovering and selling rare finds at the White Elephant Flea Market in New Milford every Sunday, creating cherished memories that will endure. Richard enjoyed nature and found excitement on the slopes, skiing, or skillfully crafting magnificent stone walls as a talented mason. His culinary talents were that of a skilled and seasoned chef, who delighted in hosting family gatherings and sharing his love through food.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory beside his wife, Debra, of 23 years, he leaves his children Angela Anderson and her husband, Scott of Watertown, Tarah Orsatti Ziogas of Wolcott, Tracy Gormley and her husband, David of Wolcott; Todd Orsatti of Bristol, Joseph Guenther and his wife, Sarah of Winsted; and Dean Guenther and his partner, Kathy of Dunedin, FL. Richard also leaves his sister, Justine Orsatti Scocchera of Danbury, along with his 8 grandchildren, a great-grandson, extended family members, and many friends.
