Mr. Richard A. Palomba

January 14, 1945 — February 13, 2025

WATERTOWN - It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Richard A. Palomba, age 80, share the news of his peaceful passing at Autumn Lake Healthcare at The Willows surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 13, 2025. He was the beloved widower of Brenda J. (Belanger) Palomba to whom he was married for 33 years.

Richard was born on January 14, 1945, in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Thomas D. and Elvira (Dantino) Palomba. He was a graduate of Watertown High School, was a successful entrepreneur, serving as a partner at The Cupboard and later owning Palomba's Market in Thomaston for several years. Additionally, he and his wife managed The Goshen Market for several years, where his commitment to quality and service left a lasting impact on the community. Richard had a longstanding interest in construction of all types and whenever he wasn’t doing his other jobs he could be working on or thinking about another construction project. He also had a passion for racing and automobiles, owning a restored 1941 Willy's Coupe, with which he proudly showed off in numerous car shows throughout the state. In his younger years, he enjoyed the thrill of riding his Harley motorcycle and cherished quiet moments fishing. His adventurous spirit led him to travel across the country in his motor home, creating lasting memories along the way. But what Richard treasured most was the time spent with his family and friends. He shared a special bond with his beloved dogs, Beamer and TJ, who brought him immense joy and companionship.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memories are his two children, his daughter Danielle Silva, and his son Jason R. Palomba. He leaves his beloved grandchildren; Jacob Silva, Brendan Silva, and Tyler Silva, his brother Thomas Palomba, along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Richard was predeceased by his sister Betty Ann Bromley.
