MILFORD - Richard W. Slack Jr age 54 formerly of Oneonta, NY and Watertown, CT passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2016. He was the former husband of Aileen (Britto) Slack.
Richard was born February 6th 1962, the son of the late Richard Slack Sr. and Mary (Mahoney) Slack. He was a graduate of Oneonta Senior High School and was a talented brick and stone mason who possessed a passion for all projects he worked on. He spent many years employed by Frank Martone Construction, Lombardo Brothers, and more recently with Joe Capasso Mason Enterprises. Richard was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being in nature. He cherished time spent with his family, especially his sons and brothers. He will be remembered for his strength, integrity, character, and his fierce work ethic.
Among his survivors are his former wife, Aileen B. Slack, his sons, Richard W. Slack III and Riley Slack, all of Watertown, his twin brother, Robert Slack and his brother, Michael Slack, both of Oneonta, NY, his sisters, Sally Manner of N.C. and Mary Beth Slack of FL. He also leaves several other extended family members and many friends. He is predeceased by his sister, Penny Enfield.
Funeral and burial services for Mr. Slack will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. A memorial gathering for Mr. Slack will be held on Thursday, August 4th 2016 from 6:00-9:00 pm at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville.
