VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - Richard David Steele, age 40 formerly of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 10th 2019 at the Virginia Beach Sentara Medical Center.
Richard was born September 15th 1978 in Bridgeport, CT the son of Sharon Dobler and Frank Burgio Jr. of Waterbury. He has spent most of his life working side by side with his older brother at E&S Associates, where he was a skilled contractor and roofer. Richard was an avid Chicago Bears fan, and was a Harley Davidson Enthusiast. Happiest when surrounded by his family and friends at get-togethers, Richard will be remembered for his sweet, sensitive, and compassionate personality. He was always there to help a friend in need and was loved by all who met him. Also a pet lover, he will be missed by his beloved dogs Maryjane, Jade and Diesel.
Besides his parents, Richard is survived by his brother, Edward Steele of Wolcott, and his sister, Stacy Burgio of Waterbury and his brother Daniel Burgio of Cheshire. Richard leaves his grandmother Barbara Burgio of Waterbury, his adoring niece and nephew, Meya Vargas and Eddie Steele Jr., and several aunts, uncles and cousins from Northtroy, VT and Waterbury, CT. He is predeceased by his grandparents Betty and Louis Dobler also from VT.
Funeral services for Richard Steele will be held privately and at the convenience of his family. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St. Waterbury, CT 06705 has been entrusted to assist the family with the arrangements. A Celebration of Richard's Life will be held at the American Legion Hall, 62 Bunker Hill Road, Watertown, CT 06795 on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 4:00 PM.
