THOMASTON - Mrs. Rita A. (Kenausis) Kalosky age 94 of Thomaston, formerly of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the widow of William T. Kalosky and will now join her beloved husband in heaven.
Rita was born April 24, 1922 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late William and Anna (Stokes) Kenausis. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School, attended Katharine Gibbs School in Boston and was graduate of the Kaynor Technical/ Waterbury Hospital, LPN program.
Rita worked at Cedar Lane Nursing Home, Hallmark and most recently at Rite-Aid. She was a very active woman, working till she was in her late 80's. Rita was an avid reader but most of all she was a devoted, wife, mother, and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by her loving and devoted family and by all who knew and loved her.
Rita is survived by her 5 children, William A. Kalosky of Thomaston, Kathleen K. Kushman and her husband, Richard of Niantic, Kenneth L. Kalosky and his wife, Patricia of Ripley, NY, Eleanor K. Covelli and her husband, Joseph of New Milford and Sharon K. Dwyer of Swampscott, MA. She also leaves her adoring grandchildren, Noah Kalosky, Matthew DeAngelis, Marabeth Stormann, Adam Kalosky, W. Lee Kalosky, Ethan Kalosky, Luke Covelli, Elizabeth Covelli Metcalf, Emily Covelli, Lindsay Dwyer, Alexandra Dwyer Poyant, Christopher Dwyer, great grandchildren, Mabel Kalosky, Jake DeAngelis, Gabrielle DeAngelis, Charlotte Metcalf, William Metcalf, Max Stormann, and Dane Stormann. She also leaves her brother, Lawrence Kenausis of Middlebury. Rita was predeceased by her granddaughter, Nora Kalosky and her brother, William Kenausis.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kalosky will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at St Thomas Church, 1 East Main St Thomaston CT. Those planning to attend are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
