AT THE CASEY - O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME - WATERBURY CT. Mr. Robert J. Chmielnicki, "Chim" age 46, of Kay Lane Waterbury, died unexpectedly on Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital.
Bob was born October 5, 1964 in Waterbury, the son of the late Stanley and Gloria (Murray) Chmielnicki. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School and attended Naugatuck Valley Community College. Bob was an avid sports fan, loved the Minnesota Vikings and the Boston Red Sox. He was a member of the Domars setback league and enjoyed traveling with his friends to many events including Nebraska football. He was particularly fond of his annual outing with his friends from Domars on St Patrick's Day. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his memberships at the Washington Hill A.C., the AOH and Waterbury PAL. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Loreto Church.
Bob is survived by his sisters, Linda Chmielnicki of Rocky Hill, Carole Sorcinelli and her husband Fred of Watertown, Theresa Chmielnicki of Waterbury and Alice Chmielnicki and Clark Michaud of Thomaston. Bob will be greatly missed by his special niece, Courtney Sorcinelli. He also leaves several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services for Mr. Chmielnicki will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 9am from the Casey - O'Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St Waterbury to Our lady of Loreto Church, Ardsley Rd. Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Old St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterbury. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 5 till 8 pm.
