WATERBURY - Mr. Robert D. Christian, age 73, of Waterbury, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital. He struggled with a long illness and had fought bravely with the support of his family. He was the husband of S. Marlene (Watson) Christian.
Mr. Christian was born September 18, 1945 in Waterbury to the late W. Robert and Hedwig (Roman) Christian. He served 8 years in the Air Force and was a proud Vietnam veteran and belonged to the local VFW Post. He was a great outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and annual camping trips with his family. Bob also loved to dance and sing to his favorite artists, Kenny Rogers and Elvis. Any time Elvis' Glory Hallelujah would play, he'd be overcome by the music and have to sing every word. Bob was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him..
Besides his devoted wife of 50 years and his mother, Bob leaves his his children, Samantha Christian of North Carolina, Anthony Christian of Waterbury, and Shannen Christian of North Carolina; his 4 grandchildren, Sabrina, Christie, Tyler, and Robbie; his 2 great grandchildren, Donnell and Malaiya. He also leaves his brother, Peter Christian and his wife, Marie, of Waterbury; and his 3 sisters-in-law and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.. Bob will forever remember his best friend, his four-legged Corgie, Ian.
