AT THE CASEY - O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME Mr. Robert J. Fruin, age 82, of Little River, South Carolina, formerly of Circular Ave. Waterbury, died Wednesday at the Loris Health Care Center in Loris SC. after a brief illness.
Robert was born in Waterbury on March 11, 1927, the son of the late John J. Fruin and Rose (Fitzpatrick) Fruin. He was educated in local schools and proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He was employed for over 38 years at AirPax / North American Phillips in Cheshire where he was an audiovisual technician retiring in 1989. He re-located to South Carolina following his retirement and was a avid photographer a member of the NRA and enjoyed reading.
Mr. Fruin is survived by his sister, Janice Filiere and her husband Donald of Shrewsbury MA several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. His brother Stephen is deceased.
Funeral services for Mr. Fruin will be held on Monday, June 1, 2009, at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St. Waterbury with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00am. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours.
