WATERBURY - Mr. Robert M. "Gus" Fennessy, age 61 of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Anna Marie (Madigan) Fennessy
Gus, was born February 25th 1955 in Waterbury, the son late Augustine and Anne (Shea) Fenessy. He graduated from Holy Cross High School and received his Associates degree from Mattatuck Community College. He was a lifelong Waterbury resident and was the former owner of Sully's Café on East Main St and spent many years working as a chauffer for Gateway Limousine. He enjoyed traveling and taking cruises and was an avid bingo player. What brought the greatest joy to Gus was spending time at home with his wife and family. Gus will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Besides his wife, Anna, Gus is survived by his daughter, Tina Collins and her husband Michael of Waterbury, his brothers, Dennis and his wife, Judy of Middletown, Stephen and his wife, Patricia of Plymouth and Daniel Fennessy of Woodbury, his sisters, Joan D'Addario and her husband, Albert of Southington and Margaret Dumas and her husband, Alexander as well as his sister in law, Darlyne Miller and her husband, Roy Bond of Waterbury. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Fennessy will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Church when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Those planning to attend are kindly requested to meet directly at the church. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may visit with Gus's family on Friday evening at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury from 4:00 till 7:00 p.m. To honor Gus's memory, donations to Office of Radio & TV, ORTV - 15 Peach Orchard Rd.
