AT THE CASEY - O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME - Robert J. Marshall Jr, age 60, of Wedgewood Dr. Waterbury, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 28,2009 at Bristol Hospital. He was the husband of Marlene (McGrath) Marshall.
Bob was born in Waterbury on September 17, 1948 the son of the late Robert Sr. and Dorothy (Walsh) Marshall. He was a highly decorated Vietnam veteran of the US Army who proudly served two tours of combat duty. He was bestowed the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Combat Infantry medals along with many other decorations. Bob was an avid fisherman and a loyal New England Patriots fan. He was a affiliated with the Naugatuck VFW as well as the VFW Post 201 in Waterbury.
Besides his wife of 37 years, Bob leaves a son Robert J. Marshall III and his wife Emilie of Waterbury and two grandsons, Zachary and Logan Marshall whom he loved dearly. He also leaves three brothers, Ronald Marshall of Oak Grove Kentucky and Patrick and John Marshall both of Waterbury, three sisters, Mary Macharelli, Lynn Catuccio and Debbie Marshall all of Waterbury and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Marshall will be held on Friday March 5, 2009 at 10:30 am at the First Congregational Church, West Main St Waterbury. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church. Burial with full military honors will be held on Wednesday March 11th at 1:00 p.m. at new Pine Grove Cemetery 850 Meriden Rd. Family and friends may visit at the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury on Thursday evening from 5 - 7 pm.
