GUILFORD - Mr. Robert A. Loffreda, age 77, of Granite Rd. Guilford, died Monday evening at Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Sally (Madel) Loffreda.
Bob was born November 13, 1933 in Waterbury, the son of the late John and Mary (Mackay) Loffreda. He was a graduate of City College NY and St John's University where he earned his PhD in Industrial Psychology, a field he worked in for 39 years. Robert was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. Bob enjoyed working as a disc jockey in his younger years and he played for the Owensboro Oilers, a minor league team of the Boston Red Sox. He was an avid tennis player and a fan of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, NY Giants and UCONN. Bob will be remembered as a loving husband and father.
Besides his wife of 42 years, Robert leaves two children, his son, Jason of Florida and his daughter, Shay Neal and her husband Craig of Bethany CT. He also leaves a brother Richard Loffreda of Queens NY.
Funeral services for Mr. Loffreda will be private and held at the convenience of his family.
