AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME - Waterbury CT - Mr. Robert P. Morin, age 85, of Courtland Ave. Waterbury, died peacefully on Thursday evening at WolcottView Manor surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was the husband of Marguerite (Garceau) Morin.
Robert was born June 13, 1926 in Waterbury, the son of the late Eugene and Claudia (Ouellette) Morin and one of 13 children. Bob was a fun-loving outgoing individual whose favorite greeting to everyone he came in contact with was "Hi-Guy". He was employed at the Waterbury Companies as well as Mattatuck Mfg. and then worked as a deliveryperson for Farer and Yankee News in Waterbury. Bob loved music and golfing and was a Boston Red Sox fan. He was devoted to his wife and family.
Besides his devoted wife of 65 years, Robert was predeceased by his son, Gregory and is survived by his four other children: sons, Stephen and wife Carolyn of Terryville and John R. and his wife Janet of Wolcott; daughters, Peggy Somma and her husband Eric of Waterbury and Marilyn J. Morin, also of Waterbury. He also leaves his surviving siblings, Leo Morin of Naugatuck, Ernest Morin of Indianapolis IN and Jeannette LaVallee of Waterbury and the pride and joy of his life, his seven grandchildren and their spouses; Daniel and Aaron Morin, Robert Somma and his wife Diana, Brian Somma and his wife Rebekah, John R. Morin Jr. and his wife Sabrina, Lindsay Kress and her husband Justin and Matthew Morin in addition to many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to exceptional staff and care givers at Wolcott View Manor, especially Nurses, Sandra and Neh and special aides, Juan, Jackie, Stacie and Marquita.
Private Funeral services for Mr. Morin will be held Monday, December 12, 2011. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury on Sunday afternoon from 3pm - 5pm.
