WATERBURY - Roberta S. Kelly, age 76, of Bentwood Dr. Waterbury, passed away peacefully at Saint Mary's Hospital on June 5th 2013 after a brief illness. She was the widow of Robert Kelly.
Mrs. Kelly was born June 9th 1936 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Cleary) Tenney. A life long resident of Waterbury, Roberta graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School and worked for several local manufacturing companies until her retirement. She was a parishioner of Saint Leo the Great Church and enjoyed reading, and crossword puzzles. Roberta was an avid UCONN Huskies and New York Yankees fan, and was always happiest while surrounding herself and spending time with her family.
Among her survivors are her children, Robert Kelly Jr. of Waterbury, Debra Francis of Watertown, Pamela Plaska of Clancy, Montana, Maura Rutkauskas, of Waterbury, Brenda Kelly of Waterbury, Colleen Kelly of Waterbury, and Beth Ann Kelly of Waterbury. She also leaves her brother, Francis Tenney of Austin, TX and her sisters, Margaret Mary Sullivan of Colchester, CT, Maureen Pannullo of Prospect and Kathy Burke of Macedon, NY as well as twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kelly will be held on Saturday, June 8th, 2013 at 10:30am from Eastside Memorial, "A CASEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME & TRIBUTE CENTER" 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury to St. Leo the Great Church, 14 Bentwood Dr Waterbury to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Rites of committal will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Roberta's family on Saturday morning at the funeral home from 9:00a.m. to 10:30a.m. Memorial donations in Roberta's memory may be made to the American Lung Association at 45 Ash Street East Hartford, CT 06108-3272.
