AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME IN OAKVILLE

Watertown - Roderick "Rod" Ryan Williams age 58 passed away at the Vitas Innovative Hospice Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving family on July 4th 2012 after a long illness.

Rod was born in Waterbury CT on September 16th 1953 the beloved son of Edwin "Ned" & Genevieve (Ryan) Williams of Watertown. He grew up in Watertown and attended Saint John's The Evangelist Grammar School and was a graduate of Watertown High School. Rod held various jobs through out his life including working with the Watertown Highway Department, a chef assistant at the Harbor View Restaurant in Stonington, as well as a machine operator at Tech System in Thomaston. He enjoyed fishing and was a music enthusiast and was a life long Minnesota Viking's fan.

Besides his parents Rod is survived by his trusted brother Edwin Williams Jr. and his wife Nina of Lawrenceville, GA; his sisters Rebecca Williams Fenn, and her husband Paul, of Eagle River AK; Diane Williams Andrew, and her husband Jon, of Watertown; as well as 13 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Williams be held on Tuesday, July 10th, 2012 at 10:00a.m. at the Our Lady of Lorreto Church 625 Bunker Hill Ave Waterbury to Celebrate the Liturgy of Christian Burial. Rites of Committal and Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Those planning on attending are asked to meet directly at the church. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers in grateful appreciation for the care provided to Roderick and his family, donations may be made to, Vitas Innovative Hospice Care 1579 Straits Turnpike Unit C Middlebury CT .
