Mr. Rodney Gordon Ayotte, age 70 of Arcadia Ave. Oakville, died Sunday morning at Waterbury Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Elaine (Daveluy) Ayotte.

Rodney was born in Waterbury on October 5, 1938, son of the late Leon & Yvonne (Martin) Ayotte. He was educated in the Waterbury School System and was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean Conflict 1957- 1959. He was an active member and served as Commander of the American Legion Post 195 and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5157. He was employed for many years at Les Care Kitchens in Waterbury. Following his retirement, he was a driver with Expressway Limousine Service in Waterbury. He loved camping, was an avid NASCAR fan but his favorite past time was spending time with his grandchildren. He was a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church.

Besides his loving wife of 49 years, Elaine, Rodney is survived by three daughters, Beth Ann Braun and her husband David of Watertown, Michelle Wallace and her husband Richard and Debra Hughes and her husband David both of Oakville, two brothers, Lester Ayotte of Oakville and Clayton Ayotte and his wife Delores of Waterbury. He also leaves 6 grandchildren who were his pride and joy; Ryne, Danielle, Christopher, Destinie, Michael and Anthony and several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his sister, Viola Evangelista.

Funeral Services with full military honors for Mr. Ayotte will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 10:00am from the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville CT. to St. Mary Magdalen Church, Buckingham St Oakville for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Burial will follow in MT Olivet Cemetery Watertown. Family and friends mya visit at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 - 8 pm. Memorial donations In Mr. Ayotte's memory may be made to the St. Mary Magdalen School Building Fund, 165 Buckingham St. Oakville CT 06779.
