THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF ROGELIO BATTICE
Well known local percussionist
WATERBURY CT - Rogelio Battice age 66 of Waterbury passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at St. Marys Hospital after a traffic accident surrounded by his adoring family.
Rogelio was born on May 29, 1952 in Santurce Puerto Rico and was a retired professional window cleaner for many years in New York City. He loved riding his bicycle, especially in New York where he once was a renown bike messenger. Tragically, he died after being struck by a vehicle while on his bicycle. He was an avid amateur photographer but was well known locally as a percussionist and loved music of all kinds. He loved fishing and was very mechanically inclined. He was scheduled to appear in this year's Citywide Festival later this month. He was a loving, caring person who would do anything for anyone. Family was everything to Rogelio. Time spent with them and for them, especially his grandchildren, was never enough. He made the world a better place for all of us, and we are blessed and thankful to have had him in our lives.
Besides the mother of his children, his beloved, Wanda Vargas, he leaves his sons, Pierre Battice USMC, San Diego CA and his wife Chie, Ramsey Camberlen of the Bronx NY and his daughter, Vanessa Battice of Waterbury. He also leaves his sisters; Hilda Battice, Lusila Battice and his grandchildren; Alexander Jr, Charles, Dillon and Ky'Le and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Battice will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 when relatives and friends may visit with Rogelio's family at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury CT from 7:00 till 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of his family.
