December 7, 1949 — November 14, 2023

WATERTOWN – Ronald Baker, age 73, of Watertown passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at St Mary’s Hospital.

Ron was born on December 7, 1949 in Waterbury the son of the late Robert and Sarah (DeVito) Baker. He graduated from Naugatuck High School and was a member of the Army National Guard prior to finding his true passion as a restauranteur owning and operating Charles Dickens Pub in Watertown & Ebenezer Scott’s in Waterbury. Ron finished his career as the Food and Beverage Manager for Avery Heights in Hartford. He was fondly known to his family as “Pops” and was especially close to his six grandchildren.

Despite his declining health he never lost a charismatic sense of humor. Ron was a storyteller, conversationalist and occasional embellisher, especially when it came to his High School athletic prowess or fishing acumen. Sports were always a big part of his life. His passion for athletics translated down two generations instilling the value of work ethic and the importance of family. Ron will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know and love him.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory, are his children Eric Baker and his partner Elizabeth Pistritto of Thomaston, Brian Baker and his wife, Alicia of Watertown, and Timothy Baker and his wife Danielle of Burlington. Ron was blessed with 6 grandchildren whom he adored, and they were devoted to him; Abby, Jamie, Brennan, Ava, Ripley and Dax. He had a big family and maintained a good relationship with his former wife, Gayle Carusillo, her husband Robert, children Lisa, Carolyn and their 5 grandchildren.
