FARMINGTON - Mrs. Rosemarie H. McGuire, age 83, of Farmington, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2022, in the comfort of her daughter Kathleen's home surrounded by the prayerful love of her family after an extended illness. Kathleen took beautiful care of her mom to the very end of her earthly journey. She was the widow of M. Robert McGuire.
Rosemarie was born March 19th, 1939 in Meriden, CT, the daughter of the late George and Rose Alma (Rodier) Berube. Rosemarie loved well. Her humble self-sacrifice and joy helped all who knew her realize how much they are loved. She would absolutely attribute this to the gifts God so richly gave her. Rosemarie was an amazing mom and grandmother taking every opportunity to encourage and take delight in the lives of her grandchildren. She would attend every school event possible and would always bring laughter and love into all events. She also treasured her friendship with Maryanne Carasale reaching back to when they were in second grade together.
She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and spent many years working as an assembler at Timex Corporation and Airpax Manufacturing until her retirement in 1996. Rosemarie was an avid UCONN Women Huskies basketball fan and enjoyed crocheting and ceramics. Following her retirement, Rosemarie enjoyed traveling with her husband spending her winters in Florida and summers camping with her family in the Berkshires, where she enjoyed many memorable family moments. She also enjoyed visiting family in Maryland.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her daughters, Michelle Steck and her husband, Gary of Bristol, and Kathleen McGuire of Avon. She also leaves her brother, Robert Berube and his wife, Eleanor of New Hampshire and her four devoted and loving grandchildren; Michael and his wife, Ella, Emily, Grace, and Jacob. In addition, she leaves one great-granddaughter, Sybil and her best friend, Maryanne Carasale as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, George Berube.
