Cape Cod, MA - Ms. Rosemary L. Moran age 85 of Cape Cod and Lake Placid Fl formerly of Waterbury, passed away on Monday November 4, 2013 at Pleasant Bay Nursing Home, Brewster MA after a brief illness.
Rosemary was born March 20th, 1928 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Cahill) Moran. She was a graduate of Saints Peter and Paul Grammar School, Waterbury Catholic High School, Saint Mary's School of Nursing and received her B.S. and MS in Nursing from Boston College as well as her M.S. in Industrial Relations from the University of New Hampshire. Rosemary dedicated her life to nursing and served for many years as Director of Nursing at Saint Mary's Hospital School of Nursing for 38 years until her retirement. She was a past member of the American Nurses Association and the National League for Nursing and was a member of the Saint Mary's School of Nursing Alumni Association and a Charter Member of the VFW Auxiliary Mattatuck Post #8075, and served on the Nurses Advisory Committee for the Higher Education Center of Central Naugatuck Valley Region. She served as past President & Parliamentarian of the New England Council of Catholic Nurses, past president of the Hartford Archdiocese of Catholic Nurses and was a member of the Saint Mary's Hospital 25 year club. She was also a member of Saints Peter and Paul church as well as a member of the Madonna Guild and served as a board member of the East End Senior Center and the Saints Peter and Paul Child Care Center.
Among Rosemary's survivors are several cousins and many close friends along with extended family. She was predeceased by her brother, James F. Moran
Funeral Services for Mrs. Moran will be held on Tuesday November 12, 2013 at 10:00 am from EASTSIDE MEMORIAL "A CASEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME AND TRIBUTE CENTER" 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury, CT 06705. to Saints Peter and Paul Church Southmayd Rd to celebrate the liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30a.m. Rites of committal will follow in New Saint Joseph's Cemetery Waterbury. Friends and relatives may visit on Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 ~ 10:00am. Memorial donations in Rosemary's memory may be made to Saints Peter and Paul School 116 Beecher Ave Waterbury, CT 06705.
