AT THE CASEY - O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME Waterbury ?" Miss Rosemary T. Johnston, of 119 Store Ave, Waterbury died unexpectedly on Thursday, November 25, 2009.
Miss Johnston was born May 11, 1914, a daughter of the late Patrick and Christine (Melia) Johnston. She was a graduate of St Francis Xavier Grammar School, Wilby High School and St. Mary's School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St Mary's Hospital for over 42 years. She was an active member of the St. Mary's School of Nursing Alumni Association, a member of the St. Francis Xavier Ladies Guild and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Monsignor Slocum Division, Waterbury. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church and was honored recently by the parish school for her years of support as a devoted alumnus. Although Rosemary never had children of her own, she considered her many nieces and nephews as her very own, lovingly caring for them and supporting them and held each of them close to her throughout her life.
Besides her many loving nieces and nephew, Rosemary is survived by her sisters-in-law; Mrs Lorraine Johnston, Mrs Jane Johnston and Mrs Mary Johnston. Her five brothers and her sister are deceased.
Funeral services for Miss Johnston will be held on Tuesday December 1, 2009 at 8:30am from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury to St. Francis Xavier Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Family and friends may visit the funeral home on Monday evening from 4:00 ?" 7:00pm. The Ladies Auxiliary of the AOH will meet at the funeral home at 6:00pm.
