Waterbury ?" Mrs. Ruth Caviasca, age 87, formerly of Glenbrook Ave. Waterbury, died unexpectedly Monday, April 20, 2009 at Saint Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of Sebastian Caviasca who passed in 2002.
Mrs. Caviasca was born October 14th 1921 in Waterbury CT., the daughter of the late Harry S. and Irene (Gilmartin) Taylor. She was a graduate of Wilby High School and worked as an Assembler for Haydon Switch Company for many years before her retirement. She was member of the Mattatuck Senior Center where she enjoyed her weekly card games. She was a parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church.
Among her survivors are a daughter, Pamela Mace of Waterbury, a brother Harry Taylor Sr. of Waterbury, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one niece. The Caviasca family would also like to extend a special thank you to Ruth's long time friend and aide, Melanie Alvarez.
Services for Mrs. Caviasca will be held on Wednesday, April 22nd at10:00 a.m. from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St to Saints Peter and Paul Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:00 ?"10:00 a.m. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
