AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
Watertown CT. Mrs. Ruth (Harrington) Signor, age 98, of Thomaston Rd Watertown, died peacefully at her home after a brief illness. She was the widow of Gordon E. Signor.
Mrs. Signor was born on November 4th 1911 in Worcester MA, the daughter of the late Ernest & Catherine (Engel) Harrington. She attended Worcester schools and graduated from Burdett College in Boston, MA. Ruth was a long time member of the First Congregational Church of Watertown, where she was active in the women's fellowship. She was also an active member of the Friends of Watertown Library. She enjoyed knitting, stenciling, playing bridge with her friends, and up until recent years, square dancing with the Woodbury Town & Country Square Dance Club.
Among her survivors are her son, Bradford S. Signor and his wife Cheryl of Wolcott; two grandchildren, Mark and Lauren Signor of Wolcott; and two second cousins, Diane Curtis and her husband, Thomas of Norway, Maine, and Richard Engel, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl of Scottsdale, Arizona.
A memorial services for Mrs. Signor will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at the First Congregational Church of Watertown, 140 Deforest St Watertown, CT, followed by a reception in Fellowship Hall. There are no calling hours. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Hope Cemetery, Worcester MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. The Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist the family with final arrangements.
