OAKVILLE - Mrs. Ruth Mary (Barto) St. Sauveur, age 77, of Oakville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Waterbury Hospital. She was the beloved wife of her dedicated husband, Lawrence St. Sauveur for 60 years.

Ruth was born on October 9, 1947, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Bradshaw) Barto. During her life Ruth worked at various jobs such as Timex in Torrington, the Oakville Pin Shop, Hemingway & Bartlett, and C&C Deli. She enjoyed the holidays, loved going to tag sales and could shop for hours. Ruth was very creative, enjoying flower gardening, crocheting blankets and working on numerous craft projects throughout her lifetime. She was happiest when spending time with her family and preparing for the holidays; baking fruit cakes and cookies for everyone. Her thoughtfulness and generous nature will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Besides her husband, Ruth leaves her son, Lawrence "Larry" St. Sauveur Jr. of Oakville, her daughter and son in law, Nancy and Bruce Cyr and two cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Cyr and Brooke Cyr of Wolcott. Ruth "Sis" leaves her siblings; Bette Genova, Roberta Kumeta, Sharon Alberto, Charles Barto Jr., and Joyce Coston. She was predeceased by her brothers, Eugene "Skipper" Barto, and Raymond "Buster" Barto. She was fondly known as Auntie Sissy to her numerous nieces and nephews and also leaves many extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00pm at the Casey - O'Neill Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 742 Main Street, Oakville. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of her family.
