AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, WATERBURY CT: Ryan P. Largay, age 23, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury CT. He was a cherished son, loving brother and beloved friend.
Ryan was born on May 2, 1985, a charismatic and talented young man who possessed a remarkable wit. With his adventurous spirit and passion for travel, Ryan could be found skiing glaciers in Utah, swimming with sharks in the Galapagos, vanquishing water rapids in British Columbia or braving the Serengeti in Africa. He was happiest when sharing these experiences and adventures with his family. An expert Skier, Ryan loved the mountains and the snow. His most cherished times however were spent with family, each Christmas in Vermont, as well as summers in Cape Cod and Block Island.
Ryan's unparalleled sense of humor and charming smile illuminated the lives of everyone he touched. An avid New England sports fan, Ryan was happiest sharing an exhilarating night with his loved ones in Boston cheering on his teams at the Garden, Fenway Park or even the living room couch. His love of animals exemplified his kind and gentle nature and he was frequently seen with his beloved Great Dane, "Daisy" and Black Lab "Colby" by his side.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Paul J. Largay of Woodbury and Patricia L. Rowland of Middlebury, his brother Scott, his stepfather, John G. Rowland and his step-siblings; Kirsten, R.J. and Julianne. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Bernard and Jean Oemcke, his paternal grandmother, Ann Largay, many loving cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. His paternal grandfather, Vincent B. Largay is deceased. Ryan's remarkable passions and loving soul carried him through life and will continue to carry all those who he touched and left behind.
