Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother

WOODBRIDGE - It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Sandra Lee (Farina) Viscosi, age 77, of Waterbury, share the news of her peaceful passing on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Charter Senior Living in Woodbridge. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Vincent Viscosi Jr.

Sandra was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, on October 11th, 1947, the daughter of the late John B. Farina Sr. and Grace Fernandes Farina. Sandra was a devoted caretaker at Southbury Training School in Southbury and Greenbrier in Cheshire, where she touched the lives of many with her compassion and strong desire to help others. Her kindness and compassion to help others extended to making frequent donations to the North Shore Animal League, where she adopted her dog Cody, as well as St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Sandra was known for her love of life, embracing every moment. She found solace in the simple pleasures—bowling, singing, and listening to timeless music, particularly the enchanting melodies of Barbara Streisand, Dean Martin, Johnny Mathis and Frank Sinatra, along with a wide variety of country tunes. Her passionate nature extended to her love for animals, especially her dogs, who brought her unwavering joy and companionship. A nurturing soul, Sandra had a remarkable green thumb and cherished taking care of her plants and flowers, and was very excited to see her Christmas cactus bloom this year. She was also celebrated for her delicious Italian cooking, especially making sauce, sharing meals filled with love and warmth with her family and friends. Traveling, including past trips to Texas, brought her much joy, and most recently she was able to visit her family in Florida, where cherished memories were made. She will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Left to cherish and honor her memories are her children; Patsy Pattonelli of Waterbury, Mary Christiano and her husband Brian of Prospect, Connecticut, her grandchildren; Melinda Pattonelli, PJ Pattonelli, Madison Pattonelli, Michael Christiano and his wife; Karissa, Brianna Christiano and Nicholas Christano, her brothers; Larry Farina and his wife Cheryl of Largo, Florida and Tony Farina and his wife Debbie of Waterbury. She was predeceased by her beloved brother Johny Farina. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
