Mrs. Sanita "Cindy" Barbara Long

December 16, 1942 — May 20, 2022

Devoted to her family and her faith

WOLCOTT – Sanita “Cindy” Barbara (Mennillo) Long, age 79 of Wolcott, passed away
peacefully on Friday afternoon, May 20, 2022 at Bristol Hospital, surrounded by the
love and comfort of her children and grandchildren. She was the widow of the late
Gerald Long.
Cindy was born on December 16, 1942 in Waterbury, CT; she was the daughter of the
late Albert and Madelena (Longo) Mennillo. She was educated in local schools and
worked for the majority of her life as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Cindy just
loved to take care of people and was a former member of the St. Anne’s parish in
Waterbury. Cindy met the love of her life, the late Gerald “Jerry” Long, and was married
for 31 wonderful years during which she had two beautiful daughters. She loved to play
cards and enjoyed bingo with her many friends, but was always happiest when belting
out songs while watching her favorite movie “Sister Act”. What was most important to
Cindy, however, was her family. She lived a full and blessed life surrounded by her
family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy are her daughters; Debbie (Michael)
Daniele of Wolcott and Geraldine “GeGe” (Anthony) Torello of East Haven. She also
leaves her devoted grandchildren; Stephanie (Jay) Paczkoski, Briana Daniele, Mikela
(Robert) Winkler, Kaylee (Eric) Dietsch, and Justin and Jason Torello; great
grandchildren; Kayden and Abel Winkler, Chloe, Michael and Ryleigh Paczkoski. Cindy
also leaves her beloved brother in law of 63 years, Ronald LeBlanc and his children:
Chris Lawlor, David LeBlanc, Paula Giannelli, and Michelle Ferrucci; all of who she
loved very much. Cindy was pre-deceased by her only sister, Lucille “Sis” LeBlanc who
was waiting to climb the mountain with Cindy, passing only six days apart. Their love
and bond for one another passed together from this life to the next.
