LOVED HER BIG ITALIAN FAMILIA

Mrs. Santina (Andolina) DeLucia, 87, of Torrington passed away peacefully on April 30, 2020, at Valerie Manor Nursing Home due to complications from the Corona Virus. She was the wife of the late Pasquale J. DeLucia. They were married on May 1, 1954, for 36 years before Pat died in 1990 at age 57.

Dolly was born in Waterbury CT on December 16, 1932, daughter of the late Guiseppe and Santa (Lombardo) Andolina and, until her relocation to Valerie Manor two years ago, had been a lifelong Waterbury resident. She was a devoted wife, wonderful mom and loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Dolly was the youngest of nine children. She was a graduate of Maloney grammar school and Wilby High School, class of 1951. She worked at the Lombard Trucking Co. as a secretary and later at Stop and Shop on Reidville Drive retiring after 35 years of service. She was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Church where she was a member of the Ladies Guild, a bingo volunteer and served as a Eucharist Minister bringing communion and visiting the sick in convalescent homes and hospitals. She loved having her family together every Sunday for dinner. Some of her family's favorites were her lasagna, chicken cutlets, pasta figoli and fried dough. She always had the "coffee and" ready when family and friends came to visit. Christmas Eves, family picnics, birthday parties and holidays, when the family would all be together, were her favorite days of the year. She and her husband enjoyed spending time together at their vacation cabin in Vermont with their dear friends.

Left to treasure her memory are her daughters, Deborah Brown (James), of Waterbury, Liza DeLucia Lindsey of Thomaston; sons, Patrick J. DeLucia (Jerry Singer) of Hollywood, FL, and Dennis F. DeLucia (Sue Manter) of Wolcott; her beloved grandchildren Mrs. Michelle (Brown) Kendrick (Ephfrom) of Waterbury, Joseph Lindsey of Terryville and her precious great-granddaughter, Riley Hickey of Thomaston, several nieces and nephews and lifelong friends. She is also survived by her last remaining sibling, Mr. Vinnie Andolina (Millie). She was predeceased by her beloved grandsons, Christopher S. Brown and Jonathan E. Lindsey. Also her brothers Mikey, Christy (Kay), Sammy (Louise), and sisters Mary Andolina, Angie Crocco (Fred), Mary Franco (John) and Connie Couture (Armand).

Due to the current governmental restrictions concerning COVID 19, funeral services and burial for Mrs. DeLucia will be held privately and be limited to her immediate family. Please keep Santina and her family in your prayers during these challenging times. Once the restrictions are lifted, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held and announced publicly. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home has been honored to assist the DeLucia family during this difficult time. To honor Santina's memory, contributions can be made in her name to Mary Mother of the Church Parish, St. Leo the Great Church, 14 Bentwood Drive, Waterbury. Memories endure only if you share them, so you are encouraged to leave a condolence, words of comfort or a personal memory with the DeLucia family on Santina's tribute page at www.eastsidememorial.com .
