THOMASTON - Sharon (Russo) Lane, age 64, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 20, 2021, at Cheshire Regional Rehabilitation surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Peter Lane.
Sharon was born in Naugatuck CT on September 12, 1957, daughter of the late Donald Russo and Shirley (Wildman) Creech. She graduated from Watertown High School, and then went on to work in offices in several companies throughout her working career. Sharon had a caring heart, was quirky, organized, very particular, and an expert flea marketer and tag sale enthusiast. She was known for her beautiful handwriting and she began collecting smiley faces long before they were known as emojis Sharon loved daisies along with watching the birds at the bird feeder. In her memory, please plant a daisy(or a pussy willow). Once she learned how to text, her favorite pastime was sending pictures and videos of her grandson, Calvin.
Left to honor her legacy are her children; Stephanie (Hardik) Upadhyay of Meriden, Tyler (Linda) Owens of Charlotte, NC. her stepson, Michael Lane of Thomaston, siblings; Eileen Russo (Mike) of Naugatuck, Sandra Russo (Bob) of Orlando, FL, Jeffrey Russo of Thomaston, Paula (Robert) Wergin of Watertown, Paul (Stephanie) Creech Jr. of Thomaston and Judi Patonelli of Waterbury. She also leaves her grandson, Calvin Owens, stepfather, Paul Creech Sr. of Watertown, and godmother, Catherine Bennett of Coca Beach Florida. In addition, she leaves several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sharon was predeceased by her parents, husband and brother, Gregory.
Graveside services for Sharon will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Sharon's family on Sunday, September 26, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main Street Oakville CT 06779. We are all still concerned about the pandemic, consequently masks will be required at all times while indoors.
