LIFE LONG WATERTOWN RESIDENT
WATERTOWN - Shauna (Murphy) Finke age 73 of Watertown, passed away unexpectedly on Friday March 12, 2021 at Waterbury Hospital. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Wallace Finke for nearly 53 years.
Shauna was born on October 2, 1947, in Waterbury, Connecticut, daughter of the late William J, and Ann L.(DuMont) Murphy. She was a graduate of Watertown High School, and attended Western Connecticut State University. Shauna spent decades as the owner of The Watertown Daycare Center and Nursery School where she touched numerous young lives with her devotion to educating future generations, and sharing her love of children's literature. She enjoyed countless summers boating on the Connecticut shoreline. She was intelligent, funny, a devoted wife, grandmother, friend, mother, proud shih tzu mom and will be missed by all who loved her.
Left to cherish her legacy and memory are her husband, Wallace Finke of Watertown, her daughter, Stacy Krouch and her husband, Keith of Ivoryton, her grandsons; Malone Wallace, Aidan James, and Logan Charles Krouch, all of Ivoryton, her sister, Sheila Whitman and her husband, Steve of Guilford, sister-in-law and cherished best friend, Charlotte Geary of Wolcott, her beloved companion, Lulu and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Finke will be held privately and at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours.
