Mr. Shelton Sears

Mr. Shelton Sears, age 75 of Fort Lauderdale, FL, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from a short illness at home with family.

Shelton was born on April 19, 1948, in Gatesville, NC, the son of Raymond Sears Sr. and Lessie (Blanchard) Sears, both deceased. Shelton moved to Waterbury, CT, when he was a young boy where he lived for most of his life until he moved to Florida where he spent his last 25 years. Shelton worked for Timex Corp and then for a concrete company until he retired. In his free time, he loved to work on cars and spend time with his friends and long time companion.

Shelton leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Crystal Sears of New Jersey, and son, Rayshawn Camp (wife Dana) of CT. He is predeceased by his sons, Randall Wright and Stacey Sears. Shelton has two brothers, Raymond Sears Jr. and Ernest Sears, and six sisters, Bernice Knight (deceased) Garnie Mae Smith (deceased), Virginia Pruden, Elizabeth Sears, Yvonne Thompson, all of CT and Lessie Ray Smith of NC. HE also leaves 9 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.


Funeral services for Mr. Sears will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 12:00pm at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main St., Waterbury, CT 06705. Relatives and friends may visit with the Sears family on Thursday morning from 11:00 until the service commences. A repass will be celebrated at So Blu’Niq, 920 Wolcott Street, Waterbury, following the service.
