AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME - WATERBURY - Sheyla Ortiz, age 30, of Sylvan Ave Waterbury, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at home, surrounded by her devoted family and friends. Sheyla had been homebound for many years and her family did not want her to let her go yet but God wanted Sheyla to come home where there is no more pain, no more suffering. Although it was very hard to lose her, please be sure to save us all a place with you, close by.
Sheyla was born March 22, 1981 in Puerto Rico the daughter of Manuel Feliz and Maria Gonzalez. She was a graduate of Crosby High School, Class of 1999 and was a certified nurse assistant (CNA) at Abbott Terrace Health Care in Waterbury. She chose that field because she loved helping people. Sheyla was all about family, always around her loving mother, daughter, brother and sister. She had many friends, loved family parties when all of her family and friends would get together. Sheyla's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the many nurses and aides that cared for Sheyla at her home throughout her extended illness. Their loving support and care will never be forgotten.
Besides her mother and father, Sheyla leaves her daughter, Shayssa Ortiz, her sister, Yajaira Ortiz and her brother, Javier Ortiz all of Waterbury as well as her maternal grandparents, Maria Flores and Benito Gonzalez. She also leaves two aunts, Vimarie Gonzalez of Waterbury and Ivette Gonzalez of Puerto Rico and many nieces, nephews.
Funeral services for Ms. Ortiz will be held Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 10:00 am at Sagrado Corzaon Church 13 Wolcott St Waterbury. Those planning to attend are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury. Family and friends may visit at the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury CT on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sheyla's memory may be made to an Educational Trust Fund for her daughter, Shayssa in care of the family at 267 Sylvan Ave Waterbury CT 06706.
