Shirley K. (Barker) Smith - age 53 of Horseshoe Drive passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday December 14th. She was the wife of Raymond L. Smith.
Shirley was born January 11th 1958 in Bridgeport, CT the daughter of the late Cecil and Shirley K. (Watson) Barker where she grew up and graduated from Bassick High School. She dedicated herself to raising her children and was a loving and devoted home maker who enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family.
Besides her husband Ray of 23 Years, Shirley is survived by four children Raymond L. Smith Jr. of Waterbury, Syreeta Rios of Bridgeport, Natalie Rios of Waterbury, and Kaitlyn Sutton of Waterbury. A brother David Barker and wife Anna of Monroe, and three sisters Marylou Cyr and late husband Greg of Arizona, Ruth Eisenbach and late husband Darvin, and Priscilla Pabon and husband Victor both of Bridgeport. As well as three grandchildren Skye and Braeden Millet and Caleb Edwards and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brother Cecil Barker and sister Catherine Barker.
Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held on Monday, December 19th, 2011 at 10:00 am, at the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery Queen of Peace Mausoleum Waterbury.
