Enjoyed a life well lived
OAKVILLE – Stella Sirois, age 99, of Oakville, passed away peacefully at Apple Rehab surrounded by the love and comfort of her family, on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. She was the widow of Leonard Sirois.
Stella was born September 7, 1923, in Oakville, CT, the daughter of the late Harry and Martha (Lichwalla) Skrapolsky. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Watertown High School. Following graduation, she spent many years being a homemaker and then went on to work at the Siemon Company as a factory assembler. Stella was an avid reader and couldn’t wait for the morning newspaper to arrive so that she could do the daily crossword puzzle. She enjoyed her trips to the casino with her sisters, playing cards, and was an avid contributor to the CT State Lottery. Stella was exceptional in almost every way, but she excelled the most at being a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memories are her children; her daughter Diane (Howie) Picard, her son, Alan “Kip” (Evelyn) Sirois, and her daughter in law Joan Sirois. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren; Donna (Warren), Gina, Anthony (Heather), Darlene (Dan), Alan (Lori), Denise (Edgar), great grandchildren; Erika (Nick), Andrew (Janelle), Brittany, Nick, Ryan, Eric, Justin, Edgar, David, Tate and great-great grandchildren; Riley, Mason, Scarlett, along with nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Louis Sirois and her four siblings, Walter, Hennie, Fran, and Mit.
The Sirois family would like to thank the staff at Apple Rehab in Watertown for the care and compassion shared with Stella and the entire Sirois family over the last 8 and a half years.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sirois will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Disciples Parish, Saint Mary Magdalen Church, Oakville. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the Church. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown.
