AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - Mrs. Sue (Connolly) Stevenson, 89, quietly passed away on Sunday, September 5 at The Watermark in Southbury, CT where she had been residing for the last five years. She was the widow of Alan Stevenson. Prior to moving to Connecticut, Mrs. Stevenson lived in Wayland and North Falmouth, MA.

Sue Stevenson was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 18th, 1921, the daughter of the late Charles Castle and Sue Irwin Connolly. Her family moved to New Jersey where she graduated from Ridgewood High School, followed by The Southern Seminary College for Women in Virginia, where she enjoyed equestrian sports. She later earned her teaching degree from Douglass College at Rutgers University which prepared her for work as an elementary school teacher. Prior to moving to Connecticut, Mrs. Stevenson lived in Wayland and North Falmouth, MA.

While at Ridgewood, she met and fell in love with her future husband, Alan Stevenson, an avid sailor. Mr. Stevenson predeceased her in 1990. Married for 48 years, they were proud parents of three daughters.

Mrs. Stevenson leaves Lynn and Michael McKenna of Weybridge, VT, Beth Lee Stevenson and Dr. Richard Jurevic of Cleveland Heights, OH, and Jill D. Stevenson and Andrew Skipp of Middlebury, CT and four grandchildren, Jake and Lee McKenna, and Emily and Andrew Skipp.

All learned an appreciation for art and design, as well as gracious entertaining and thoughtful hospitality from Sue.

Funeral services and burial are private and at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours. The O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main Street, Oakville has been entrusted with arrangements. A talented bridge player, and lifelong gardening and nature enthusiast, Sue was an
active member of the Wayland Garden Club. In lieu of gifts, donations to the National Audubon
