THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF SUNDUS DEMIRALI
WATERBURY - Sundus (Mamudova) Demirali, age 78 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at the Vitas Hospice Unit at St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 1, 2020 after a brief illness. She was the wife of Ali Demirali.
Sundus was born on May 15, 1942 in Bitola, Macedonia. She was the daughter of the late Aki and Nazife (Ibish) Mamudova. Sundus immigrated to Waterbury, CT in 1963 where she spent the remainder of her life. She was a founding and lifelong member of both the Albanian-American Muslim Community Center and the Albanian-American Muslim Women's Auxiliary Club. As a member of both groups, Sundus volunteered her time and efforts in supporting the various goals of these organizations. She took great pride in caring for her family, and devoted her entire life to doing so. In addition to being a devoted and loving wife and mother, Sundus was a doting grandmother, especially proud of her six grandchildren, and relished the time spent with each of them, beaming with love and pride for them all. In addition to spending time with family, Sundus really enjoyed cooking, and was well known for making several Albanian ethnic recipes which no one else was ever able to duplicate.
Sundus leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Ali, her daughter Linda Demirali and her children, Kelsey and Colby Linnell of Prospect, her daughter Elizabeth (Demirali) Kochi and her husband, Stefan, and their children, Andrew and Sarah of Lexington, MA, her daughter Debbie (Demirali) Abreu and her husband, Joseph, and their children, Isabella and Joseph of Farmington. She also leaves a brother, Menan Qerimi of Macedonia, a sister, Ruhije Mustafa of Canada, and was predeceased by a sister, Bedrije Demiri. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, and loving friends.
